From styrofoam cups and plastic bottles to beer cans\, food wrappers\, and other litter\, it all adds up quickly if no one steps in to clean it up. By spending a little time gathering trash\, we can make a big difference in keeping Sea Isle looking its best. \nDon’t worry if you’ve never participated in a clean-up before. Tools and trash bags will be provided\, so all you need to bring is a willingness to help and maybe a pair of gloves if you prefer to use your own. Families\, friends\, and neighbors are all encouraged to join in. It’s a great way for kids and adults alike to learn about caring for our coastal environment. \nKeeping the beach clean is about more than appearances. Much of the trash left on the sand eventually washes back into the Gulf\, where it can harm marine life and pollute the water we all enjoy. DESCRIPTION:Get ready for one of the most entertaining traditions of the holiday weekend—the Labor Day 50 Club Poker Run in Sea Isle\, taking place on Saturday\, September 5\, 2026. This fun and social event invites residents and visitors to explore the neighborhood while enjoying great company\, tasty snacks\, and a little friendly competition along the way. \nParticipants will begin by paying a small entry fee\, which allows them to take part in the Poker Run route through Sea Isle. From there\, the adventure begins as you tour the neighborhood\, stopping at several participating homes along the way. Each home will welcome guests with snacks\, refreshments\, and friendly hosts\, making the event as much about visiting with neighbors as it is about the cards. \nAt every stop\, participants will receive one playing card. By the time you finish the route\, you’ll have collected a full poker hand made up of cards gathered from each home you visited. At the end of the run\, everyone will reveal their hands to see who came away with the best combination. \nPrizes will be awarded for both the best hand and the worst hand\, so even if your luck runs cold\, you still have a chance to win. The excitement\, laughter\, and good-natured competition make this event a highlight of the Sea Isle Labor Day weekend. \nBest of all\, the Poker Run supports a great cause. Proceeds from the event benefit the 50 Club of Galveston\, an organization dedicated to supporting the first responders of Galveston County. The 50 Club provides assistance to the families of police officers\, firefighters\, and other emergency personnel who risk their lives to protect our communities. \nSo gather your friends\, hop on a golf cart or bike\, and enjoy an evening of fun while supporting those who serve and protect our county.

Cast a line and see what you can reel in—speckled trout\, redfish\, gafftop\, or heck\, even a hardhead catfish could earn you bragging rights and a prize! You never know what might be biting when the surf is active in the early morning hours. \nParticipants are welcome to bring their own fishing gear\, but if you don’t have equipment\, don’t worry. Fishing gear will also be available\, making it easy for anyone to join the fun and give surf fishing a try. \nThe excitement continues after the fishing wraps up. Prizes will be awarded at the next Planters Bunch meeting\, recognizing the anglers who managed to land the most impressive catches. \nSponsored by Planters Bunch\, the Fishing Rodeo is another great way for the Sea Isle community to gather outdoors\, enjoy the coast\, and share a few fishing stories along the way.
