Sea Isle Office: The Sea Isle Office is located adjacent to the swimming pool at the Marina. It is generally open M-F from 9-5. The number there is 409-737-2438. Ginger and Vicky can answer almost any question you have, from trash pickup to permits. You can also pay your maintenance assessment there, if you want to. Stop by and visit, there’s always coffee on.
Boat Ramp Key and Pier Card: Contact Ginger or Vicky at the Sea Isle Office, 409-737-2438, adjacent to the pool. They will give you a key to the boat ramp, as well as a card to access the pier. Please make sure to lock the boat ramp when you are finished launching or trailering your boat, and close the gate to the pier when you enter or exit. Don’t lose the key or card, they are expensive if you have to replace them!
Swimming Pool: The swimming pool is generally open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, though some years we try to open it on Mother’s Day weekend through Labor Day. You’ll need to sign in with the pool attendant whenever you want to use the pool. They are under the palapa adjacent to the office. If there’s an “Open” flag flying over the palapa, the pool is open.
Sand Bar/West End Restaurant The Sand Bar and the West End Restaurant are located at the Marina on Burnet. The West End Restaurant is upstairs and has both indoor and outdoor dining.
The Sand Bar is an open air bar and grill with a Key West feel. There is a DJ on the weekends and some holidays, and if you’re into karaoke, there’s karaoke most weekends. Some of the singers are very good. Some have enough alcohol in their bloodstream to make them think they are Pavarotti. It’s great fun!
Sea Isle POA: The Sea Isle Property Owners Association holds a meeting at the Sea Isle Offices on the second Saturday of each month at 9AM. Sometimes the meeting is canceled during the month of May due to the annual meeting occurring in May. You can see your Board in action and get a good rundown of the business of Sea Isle. You can have up to five minutes to address the Board, if you have something you’d like the Board to hear.
The POA maintains a website, at www.seaislegalveston.com. Click on the “Register” menu item, complete the form, and then confirm your email address. You’ll be approved at the first opportunity. There are legal documents there, as well as a calendar, and you can subscribe to documents that are posted to the website by the POA.
If you ever are inclined, you can run for a two year term as a Board member one day. The election for new Board members occurs in the days leading up to the Annual Meeting in May.
Save Our Shores (Pack Up Your Gear): The City of Galveston instituted a new policy in June of 2019, requiring that no tents, canopies, chairs, toys, or anything be left on any of the Galveston beaches overnight. Any items left on the beach will be thrown away. So, at dusk or when you leave the beach for the day, please pack up ALL your gear and take it with you. Anything you leave behind will probably be gone the next day.
Facebook Pages: There are two main Facebook Pages for Sea Isle, Sea Isle Neighbors, and Sea Isle Owners. Sea Isle Owners is limited to owners of record, and Sea Isle Neighbors is a little more of an open group. You, as an owner, can join both of those Facebook groups.
Please note that Facebook is NOT the place to obtain information on the Property Owners Association business. As with any social media platform, there are a lot of opinions, and 95% of them are uninformed! But you do get a lot of good information on the weather, and recommendations for contractors and such. If you ever have any questions about the veracity of what you hear on Facebook, call the office at 409-737-2438 and they’ll be happy to talk with you.
Stores: At the marina you’ll find the Marina Convenience store and the Bait Shop. The Convenience store sells beverages, shirts, knick-knacks and a limited number of grocery items. You can also drive your boat up to the convenience store via the canals and buy gas, it’s much more convenient that carrying around gas cans.
The Sea Isle Hill store on Nueces and 3005 sells gas (for your auto) and is stocked similarly to any other convenience store but with more grocery items and beach/fishing equipment.
The Bait Shop sells live shrimp, dead shrimp, squid, croaker, and lots of other fishing baits. Seven Seas Grocery down the road at Jamaica Beach is a bigger grocery store that carries a lot of grocery items.
