Planters Bunch Fishing Rodeo

Get ready for some early-morning coastal fun at the Planters Bunch Fishing Rodeo! Anglers of all ages are invited to gather at the San Jacinto Beach entrance at sunrise and take part in a relaxed morning of surf fishing and friendly competition along the beautiful Gulf shoreline.

Whether you’re an experienced fisherman or just trying it for the first time, the Fishing Rodeo is all about enjoying the water, the sunrise, and the company of neighbors. Cast a line and see what you can reel in—speckled trout, redfish, gafftop, or heck, even a hardhead catfish could earn you bragging rights and a prize! You never know what might be biting when the surf is active in the early morning hours.

Participants are welcome to bring their own fishing gear, but if you don’t have equipment, don’t worry. Fishing gear will also be available, making it easy for anyone to join the fun and give surf fishing a try.

The excitement continues after the fishing wraps up. Prizes will be awarded at the next Planters Bunch meeting, recognizing the anglers who managed to land the most impressive catches.
